About this experience

December 15 | 11am- 4pm | In this level 2 workshop by Food Photographer and Industry Expert - Assad Dadan you will learn all about how to light your scene, be it sunlight or artificially through a Strobe, Continuous LED or a Flash light. Understand what makes them different and how to modify each of these sources to get a range of different shapes from the light and also the respective shadows. Participants need to have a clear knowledge about operating a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera and more importantly should be comfortable changing the f-stop, adjusting Shutter Speed and accordingly modifying the ISO.

What you will learn:
You will have a good understanding about the different types of lights that can be used for Food Photography. How to work with just one light, modify its shape and overall yield professional looking images.

Please Note: This workshop is not suitable for learning Smartphone Photography or Lighting for Smartphone.

Assad has had quite a few gigs in the past, but currently all his time, space and energy belongs to innovating engaging, delightful visuals for and with anyone who’d like to play. He is a self taught photographer whose journey started just like it does with any creative pursuit - that funny little kick, derived by ‘making’ something original - from behind the lens and around food.

At Medium&Rare; he develops a variety of visually appealing communications & solutions - after closely deliberating and ideating with some of the top Chefs, Restaurant brands and gastronomes. Taking his not so general immersion from the world of food up a notch; he will often style it, develop recipes and indulge in interior and architectural setups of food spaces. He also has a video series production - 'I Was Here' where he takes up unguided travel to a city and present my observations on its food +people and everything that sews them together.
