Booking an Online Class

How do I sign up for an online cooking class?

To register for any of our online cooking classes, head to our online class timetable page.

Where can I see the fees, duration and details for a particular class?

The fees and course content differ for every class. You can find all information about any class through our class timetable.

 How are the online classes conducted?

All our online classes are conducted via zoom webinar. Participants audio is mute and video is off automatically upon joining. All queries are answered through the interactive live chat.

When will I get the recipes and the zoom link for the class?

You will receive the recipes for the online class anywhere between 2-8 hours before a class begins. The zoom registration link is sent to you through a confirmation email, automatically after you make the payment for a particular class. Once you complete your zoom registration, you will receive an automated zoom email with the meeting ID, password and zoom link for the online class.

I signed up for a class, but cannot find the zoom link.

Do I need to keep any ingredients ready for the class?

All our online classes are interactive live demonstrations. Since they are not cook-along classes, you are not required to keep any ingredients ready.

Are the online cooking classes recorded? Will I have access to the recording after the class?

All our online classes are recorded. The recording is shared with all participants via email within 24 hours of the class ending.

Please note: For International Masterclasses, the recording is only shared for viewing purposes and will not be download friendly. It will be sent via email to your registered email address.

How long do I have access to the recording?

There is no time limit to how long you will have access to the class recordings. You are free to watch it at any time.

I cannot attend the entire class live. Can I still get access to the recording?

If you cannot attend the entire class live, you can still sign up for it and rely on the recording that will be shared with all participants, within 24 hours of the class ending.

Can I purchase the recording of a past online class?

Currently, we do not sell the recording of an online class that has already taken place. Have a look at our upcoming classes here.

Are the ingredients and equipment used during the class easily available?

We share supplier lists with all participants for specific ingredients and equipment that may not be readily available in your pantry. Based on where you are from, our chef will try their best to help you find a supplier that will deliver particular ingredients to your doorstep. We do not use any ingredients in our classes that are not easily available in Mumbai, India or online through e-commerce sites like Amazon.

Do you have month long courses for aspiring chefs?

Currently, we only conduct one day or two day long online classes. Each class can be anywhere between 3 to 5 hours per day.


Payment & Refund

What happens once I have made the payment for a particular online class?

Once you have successfully paid the class fees, you will receive a confirmation on your registered email address. Follow the steps in the email to receive the online class link.

Is there any discount if I sign up for three or more classes at one time?

What payments modes are available online?

We accept debit/ credit cards, UPI and wallets (PayTM, PhonePe etc.) on our website.

My online payment has failed. Are there any other modes of payment?

In case of failed online payments or if you prefer an alternate mode of payment that isn’t available on the website, please write to us at theclassroom@lafolie.in

Booking a Class

Do I need to be a chef to sign up for a class?

We welcome culinary enthusiasts with any level of expertise. Our offerings range from basic to advanced classes. The prerequisites, if any, are mentioned in the class descriptions. We advise you to adhere to them because they state the level of required skills. For instance, in an intermediate-level class, the teacher will expect the participants to have knowledge about the basic techniques. What is the difference between a basic, intermediate and advanced class?

Basic: No previous cookery experience required. We will teach you fundamental skills and techniques to help develop your culinary confidence.

Intermediate: You are a culinary professional with good knowledge about basic techniques. Designed for participants who are confident about their basic skills or have completed a basic course.

Advanced: You are a culinary professional with thorough knowledge about cooking processes and want to master the culinary craft. You have professional experience and knowledge about most of the techniques. 

General Information

What is the minimum age of participation?

The minimum age of participation in an adult’s class is 15 years unless specified. The minimum age for a kid’s class is 5 years.

What will I be provided with?

An apron, recipe booklets and stationery. We have locker facilities for safekeeping of your personal belongings during the class. Light refreshments are included in our short duration classes. A light lunch is included in our longer duration classes.

Do I need to bring any material?

No. All the ingredients and equipment will be provided by us.

What is the dress code?

For all our classes, we advise students to wear cotton garments and close–toed shoes. A chef's jacket is mandatory for intermediate or advanced-level classes.

Will I get to take food home?

While we encourage guests to sit and enjoy their culinary creations together after each class, we are happy to pack the extra food for you to take home.

What is the difference between a hands-on class and an interactive demo?

A hands-on class is a practical class where the participants are divided into groups, and they learn, practise and prepare the dishes as a team. In an interactive demonstration, they actively observe the teacher and are invited to participate at certain stages of the cooking process.

Is there parking space in your premises?

Not at the moment. 


What if I am late for the class?

If you are running late, we advise you to inform our community manager on +919167762379, in advance, so that we are aware and can direct you towards our location, if required. We respect the time of each participant and the teacher So, the class will begin as per schedule. Please note that you will not be able to cancel or reschedule in such circumstances. 

Payment & Refund

How do I pay for the class?

You can pay online via www.theclassroombylafolie.com. We ask for 100% advance payment which is non-refundable.

Can I cancel a class?

In case you wish to cancel, you need to inform us 48 hours in advance. In this case, you will receive class credit that can be redeemed at any of our other classes (at the same price), with a minimum of 3-day notice.

What is the refund policy?

The payment made for any of the classes is non-refundable. In case of cancellation, it can be redeemed at any of our other classes (at the same price), with a minimum of 3-day notice. 

What happens if the class is cancelled by The Classroom?

The management reserves the right to cancel a class. In that case, we will inform you 72 hours in advance and provide a full refund. A minimum of 14 working days is required to initiate the refund process. We advise you not to make any travel arrangements unless you have received a class confirmation email from us. We will not be able to refund any travel expenses in case of cancellation.



Can I book a private class? 

Yes, you are welcome to book a private class at The Classroom by La Folie. We currently offer Italian, Mezze, Asian, Bakery, Chocolate and Pastry driven classes. For a private class, we require a minimum batch of 8 participants. 

What is the size of the space?

The Classroom, combined with our factory café, is a 3300 Sq ft culinary space which is ideal for hosting cooking workshops, pop-up dinners, menu previews, product launch events and any media filming.

How many people can the space accommodate?

The space can accommodate up to 22 people sitting and 32 people standing.

What types of events can I host at your space?

Our space has been custom designed to host boutique events such as birthday celebrations, baby showers, anniversary dinners, press launch events, chef's pop-up dinners or any other occasion that needs an intimate setting.

Do you have service staff available for an event?

We can offer you service staff based on your requirements, at an additional fee.


Do you offer housekeeping services for an event?

You can hire the space with or without housekeeping services. The rates for hire vary accordingly.


Do you offer catering services for events? Can I customise the menu?

Yes, we do offer catering services at an additional cost. While we have menus in place, we can work with you to customise the menu per your requirements. 


Can I serve alcohol at the event?

Yes, you can serve alcohol at your event provided that you purchase an alcohol license for the day.


How many hours can I hire the space for?

The space is available for hire on half day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours) basis.


Do you provide cutlery, tableware, etc., if needed for my event? 

We are able to provide basic cutlery and tableware. However, if you do need anything specific, this will be provided at an additional cost.


Do I need to pay any amount at the time of booking?

We will require Rs.10,000/- as security deposit at the time of booking the event. This is fully refundable and will be returned to you after the event. 


What is the payment policy?

We require a 50% advance payment at the time of booking, and the balance 3 days prior to the event.


Can I bring in any décor/floral arrangements for my event?

Yes, you are welcome to place any décor or floral arrangements on the tables or within certain areas of the space as needed. Please note that at the end the event, the space has to be handed back to us as it was provided to you. Any damages to the furniture or property will incur additional charges and will be deducted from the security deposit. 


Can I cook at the venue? What kind of appliances do you have?

Yes, cooking facilities are available. Our studio is equipped with inductions, KitchenAid mixers, Robot Coupe food processors and many other modern appliances. Prior to booking an event, you can visit our space to get a better understanding of our offerings.


What happens if I have to cancel the event?

In case of any cancellations, we will require 7 days advance notice and will refund 50% of the event fee. If the event is cancelled within 72 – 24 hours prior to the scheduled date, no refund will be provided. 


What is the refund policy for an event cancellation?

If an event is cancelled within 7 days of the scheduled date, a 50% cancellation charge will be applicable. 


Do I need permission for any media filming or photography?

If your media shoot is for content/social media purposes, please let us know at the time of booking the event. If your media shoot is for commercial purposes, certain permissions maybe required. Please note that charges for commercial filming and photography will also vary.
